By the end of this year will show a new series of the luxury sedan in the Audi series. Model will be a driven by 12-cylinder engine with a capacity of 6.3 cubic meters FSI, which will produce 500 horsepower and delivers its peak torque of 625 Nm (460.98 lb-ft) at engine speeds at 3,250 rpm. Luxury sedan will be powered with four-wheel drive system Quattro. With an overall length of 5,267 millimeters (17.28 ft), the new Audi A8 L is 130 mm (0.43 ft) longer than the preview version. The wheelbase has grown by the same amount, to 3,122 mm (10.24 ft). The width remains unchanged at 1,949 mm (6.39 ft); the height has increased by 2 mm (0.08 in) to 1,462 mm (4.8 ft). For the construction of the new top model of German company are used aluminum alloys which according to Audi reduce weight by up to 40 percent less than a comparable steel body. The new 6.3 FSI W12 engine with 500 hp has a fuel consumption of 12.0 liters per 100 kilometers (19.6 US mpg). As appears from the data provided by Audi the new engine of the top model is a powerful by 50 hp, and fuel consumption is 1.6 l/100 km less, is equivalent to a 12 percent improvement. Acceleration from 0 to 60 MPH (0 to 100 km / h) is in 4.9 seconds, top speed is limited to 155 MPH (250 km/h).

New Audi A8 engine is behind its competitors mostly in terms of power. For comparison, in the luxurious Mercedes models with two engines more power than that of the new A8, S600 5.5L V12 510 HP, S63 AMG 6.2L V8 518 HP. BMW 760 LI also has a much more powerful engine than in the Audi, 6.0L V12 535 HP. Cadillac CTS-V has the 6.2L SFI engine with 556 HP, but only 8 cylinders.
