The first-generation BMW X5 SUV model, is in 1999. Since then things have changed a lot. Multiple increases petrol prices, forced engineers to modernize engines in cars to improve fuel consumption. In the latest generation of luxury SUV, German engineers have boosted fuel economy and emissions by 10 percent without affecting the performance. All versions of the new BMW X5 fulfil the EU5 emission standard in Europe and ULEV II in the USA respectively. The range of new engines in the 2011 BMW X5 in distance between 80 kW/245 hp to 408 kW/555 hp. Drivetrain in the new BMW X5 is well known xDrive system, with very slight improvements. All versions of the X5 are equipped with eight – speed automatic transmission as standard.
