From Porsche officially announced that they would produce a limited edition 911 GT2 RS. Model will have a boxer engine with a capacity of 3600 liters, two turbochargers with a maximum power of 620 horsepower. RS 911 GT2 will be the most powerful Porsche ever build. Vehicle weight is reduced to 3,020 lb (1,370 kilograms) with all fluids on board, which is 154 lbs (70 kilograms) in comparison with the previous 911 GT2.
The tires are specifically designed for RS 911 GT2 and dimensions of 245/35 ZR 19 at the front and 325/30 ZR 19 at the rear. Extreme cornering dynamics are ensured by the setup of the springs, Porsche Adaptive Suspension Management (PASM), unique anti-roll bars, specific engine mounts and recalibrated Porsche Stability Management (PSM), whose stability and traction control functions can be switched off individually. To reduce the weight from Porsche are used carbon-fiber-reinforced components with a matt-black surface finish. 3.6 liters H6 Porsche boxer-engine used with variable turbine geometry turbochargers and provides power to the rear wheels exclusively through a six-speed manual gearbox. The braking system is the most advanced technology made of carbon PCCB (Porsche Composite Ceramic Brakes). Appearance in the GT2 RS also acquired significant changes. Upgraded front spoiler with Matte-finish carbon, rear spoiler is raised to 3 / 8 inches (10 mm), which will provide pressure in the rear of the car. The interior has also undergone significant improvements. Seats are made from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic. Basic color is red in the interior. After all improvements Porsche 911 GT2 RS accelerates from standstill to 60 mph (0-100 km/h) for 3,4 sec. The maximum speed is 205 mph (330 km/h). Model will debut at the auto show in Moscow (August 25th 2010). In the USA model is expected to arrive October 2010, the price will be $ 245,000. The series will be limited to 500 pieces worldwide.
