Shortly after the official premier of the new Audi A8, we were able to test it. To test modification we chose eight cylinder version 4.2 FSI Quattro, though Audi said it best sold a model with W-12 engine. For opponents of the new A8 we chose one of the best cars in this class, Mercedes S-class, which extremely popular especially in Europe.

Thanks to the aluminum construction of the new Audi, the car’s weight is one of the lowest in this class. The difference in weight of both tested cars is about 100 kg., Nowadays when every gram is importance, this is a huge difference. Better weight of Audi A8 is the main
reason for slightly better acceleration, despite its lower output power and low torque. In terms of fuel consumption from Audi has made a real revolution, and the 8 cylinder version can compare with the hybrid models in its class. In terms of sports driving A8 has a slight advantage. This modification of the Mercedes S-Class is on the market by five years, and for this time no one rival get close to the comfort riding. 
The feeling of luxury, the proposed location and design are parameter which Mercedes remains No. 1. Regarding the noise inside the vehicle, surprising Audi has a slight advantage. The maximum speed in both cars is electronically limited to 250 km / h. In testing the braking system Audi is presented much well than Mercedes. As regards price winner is expected Audi A8, which is over $ 10,000 cheaper than its competitor.
Our advice: Despite the victory on points for Audi and its good performance in sports driving, our favorite remains the Mercedes S-class, mostly because that offers better comfort.
