2011 Ford Explorer, 30% Better Fuel Economy

2010 Ford ExplorerFord introduced the all-new EXPLORER With ECOBOOST engine. Model will be equipped with an optional 2.0-liter EcoBoost ™ I-4 engine, which should hold 30 percent increase in fuel efficiency compared with the current V-6-powered Explorer. 2011 models will hit USA showrooms later this year. Besides reducing the engine from Ford will offer for a new model comfort and convenience 2010 Ford Explorerfeatures, while overall vehicle weight is reduced compared to the previous model. Extensive use of lighter and stronger high-strength steels such as boron add durability while saving weight. An aluminum hood is used, while a one-piece composite front bolster – the radiator support between engine and grille – is 65 percent lighter. Lighter weight equates to fuel and money saved. Still no official information about the exact fuel consumption and engine output power. V6 2010 2010 Ford Explorermodel has a power of 210 hp with fuel economy of 14/20 mpg with 30% percent improvement in EXPLORER 2011 should have around 17/26 mpg. Ford argued that the new 2.0-liter EcoBoost ™ I-4 engine will provide power as a 6 cylinder engine (V6 model has only 210 horsepower one of the weakest in its class), for compare 2010 Acura RDX has a 2.3 i4 engine with 240 horsepower and  Fuel consummation is 19/24 mpg. Currently there is no detailed information on the price of 2011 models.
