2011 Ford ExplorerFord officially revealed photos of the new 2011 Ford Explorer. Model will be available with two different engineс. 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6 has an output power of 290 hp at 6500 rpm, 255 lb.-ft. maximum torque at 4,000 rpm. For comparison 2010 model was one of the weakest V6 engine with an output power of only 210 hp and capacity of 4.0 L. Despite the increased power, Ford promising to reduce fuel consumption by up to 20% with the V6 engine. Furthermore, V6 version of Ford offered 2.0-liter EcoBoost ™ I-4 engine, as this model is expected to be the most economical gasoline SUV. This engine is produced in Ford’s factory in Spain and for now it was primarily intended for customers of the brand in Europe. 2.0L I-4 EcoBoost has a power output of 237 hp at 5,500 rpm, maximum Torque is 250 lb.-ft., in the range between 1.750 and 4,000 rpm. The 2011 Explorer will be assembled at Ford’s Chicago manufacturing facility. Production begins late this year, and Explorer will be available in dealerships this winter.
