Porsche published the first official information on the Cayman R, which will be officially presented at a motor show in Los Angeles (19 – 28 November 2010). Porsche Cayman R is an optimized version of the Cayman S,
which is characterized by lower weight, more powerful engine and more sport feeling. The car is 121 pounds lighter than the Cayman S, 10 hp more and stands 20 mm. closer to the asphalt. Cayman R relies on the 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine with 330 hp and has a weight of 2849 lbs.
(1295 kg). Acceleration from standstill to 60 mph (0-100 km / h), for modification with 6-speed manual gearbox, it only takes 5 seconds and the maximum speed reaches 282 km / h. Version with a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and the Sport Chrono package, accelerate from 0 to 60 mph for just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 280 km / h, without Sport Chrono package classic distance Cayman R take for 4.7 sec.
Average fuel consumption is around 24 mpg (9.7 liters per 100 kilometers) in the version with a manual transmission and 25mpg (9.3 l./100 km) in modification whit PDK. Porsche Cayman R will be available from February 2011. Prices in Germany start at € 69,830. For USA market price is expected to be around $66,300
