Soon after Honda announced it would stop selling Legend in Europe, information appeared to end the sale of one of the best selling cars in the world. Sales of the Civic sedan for Japanese market will only be sold until stocks are exhausted. The main reason for the end of one of the most successful models is the low level of demand. For the October are sold only 182 Civics and 270 Civic Hybrids. Next year is expected to completely new modification, which also will be sold only on international markets. The first Honda Civic has been produced in 1972 and since then has sold over 3 million copies. Manufacturing of Honda Civic in Japan will continue even after the cessation of sales. The car will be assembled in the factory of the company in Suzuka, but only for export.

This is not really a shock, When Honda introduced the Fit model into the JDM market in 2001,civic sales in Japan droppsed 30%,not because the civic was a bad car but because the Fit fit more into the JDM market needs.
Now we’ve seen more and more variants of the Fit in the JDM market and this makes the Civic even less relevant, but not irrelevant. You’ll see civic variants like the Stream and other variants off its platform continue.
The fact also is the Civic has gotten as large as it possibly can for its size class,it just can’t grow in size anymore. The next Civic may use a improved version of the current platform but it’ll likely shorter. But not
    narrower.
In many markets the engine will be eventually turbocharged 1.3 or 1.4L or 1.5L engines vs. the R-series 1800cc engine. Theres also of course, the new
projected advanced 1600cc turbo engine. which hopefully will have direct
    injection.
The current R-18 engine series itself could easily soldier on with gas direct
injection and turbocharging and be a new base engine for the Accord. Its a
perfectly fine engine and can be updated with DI and next generation I-VTEC.
Its already got the oil spray piston cooling, a pre-requisite for turbocharging.
