After much waiting, spy photos, conjecture and speculation, BMW officially introduced the 1-Series M Coupe. In presenting the new M model, the Bavarian company is trying to show its closeness to the original model M3 E30 from 1988. The smallest M model of the Bavarian company was created based on the 135i Coupe. However, it is 5 mm longer, 53 mm wider and 13 mm higher than the 135i. Its own weight is 1495 kg, which means that it is 35 kg lighter than the base BMW 135i. Weight distribution between the two axes is 52/48. The engine is well known from Z4 35iS – 3.0 liter bi-turbo inline 6 cylinder. It offers an output of 335 hp at 5900 rpm. Redline starts at 7000 rpm. Maximum torque is 450 Nm, as available between 1500 and 4500 rpm. At launch, the car will be available only with manual transmission with 6 gears. Drivetrain is standard for BMW M models – rear wheels drive. According to BMW, sports coupe accelerates from 0-60 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 4.9 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h). The braking system is more powerful, with perforated brake discs, diameter 360 mm front and 350 mm rear. The steering system is hydraulically amplified called Servotronic, which regulates wheel used on the efforts under the particular conditions of the road. Like other M models, and 1-Series M offers M Drive button on the steering wheel, which regulates the sensitivity of the throttle pedal to maximize sports management mode. The wheels on 1 Series M Coupe are typical of “M” model, are known M3 Competition Package, as well as short series M3 GTS. Front wheels are size 19 x 9 tires 245/35/R19, rear and 19 x 10 and 265/35/R19.
