Mercedes R class is a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). Model is the first MPV vehicle offered by Mercedes. Debut took place in 2005 New York International Auto Show. Currently USA R class is produced at plants in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Mexico City. The car comes standard with rear-wheel drive as an option is available 4MATIC all wheels drive system. North American market offering versions R350 3.5 V6 268hp and R350 diesel BlueTEC 3.0 V6 210 hp. For the European market offered modifications are R300 CDI diesel 3.0 L V6 190hp, R350 CDI diesel 3.0 L V6 221hp; R280 3.0 L V6 gasoline 228hp; R550 5.5L gasoline V8 383hp. AMG presented a version with top engine 6.2l V8 with output power of 503hp, but so far this modification is not a hit showrooms.
