Mercedes officially premise SLS AMG E-Cell to be ready by 2013. Super car has four electric motors, one for each wheel, and their total output power is 526 hp and maximum torque is 880 Nm. The engines are supplied with electricity from complex lithium-ion batteries with water cooling. They are combined with the system for regeneration of energy used by the brakes.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the car accelerates from standstill to 100 km / h in only 4.0 seconds or 0.2 seconds slower than the base version with gasoline engine mounted on a standard SLS AMG with 571 hp. Currently, the company no announced the distance that the vehicle can travel on a single charge. At the Detroit Auto Show Dr Zetsche said “Our stand architecture vividly shows how single-mindedly we are moving forward,” he said of the redesigned Mercedes-Benz show stand. “We are driving on a multi-lane highway into the future – one that
we have populated with all relevant driveline technologies. The spectrum ranges from high-tech internal combustion engines … through a variety of types of hybrids to powerful battery and fuel cell electric drives with full everyday usability. “According to executives at Mercedes, SLS AMG E-Cell is the most technologically advanced and perfect car for the entire 125 years of automotive history, showing how beautiful can be electric vehicles.
