The Renault-Nissan Alliance reports record sales of 7,276,398 units in 2010. This numbers include all vehicles sold under the brands Renault, Nissan, Lada, Renault Samsung Motors, Dacia and Infiniti. The Group recorded sales increase by 19.6% compared to 2009. The Renault-Nissan Alliance captured 10.3% of the global market in 2010.
“In 2010, the Renault-Nissan Alliance achieved unprecedented global sales and global market share. Our performance has been particularly encouraging in growth markets where Alliance brands have continued to gain market share, “said Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and CEO of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
Nissan closed the year with record sales of 4,080,588 units, up 21.5% compared to previous year. Renault has managed to sell worldwide 2,625,796 cars, the biggest market for the French company remains Europe with 1,642,000 units. Nissan managed to sell most cars in China –
1,023,638, which is 35% more than last year there. In the USA Nissan and Infiniti sales totaled 908,570 units, an 18% increase over 2009. In Europe the increase is 13% to 555,924 units. An interesting fact is that UK is the largest European market for Nissan with 96,419 units sold, followed by Russia with 84,288 units.
With this result, Renault-Nissan Alliance overtakes by sales third-placed Volkswagen AG, which is able to sold 7.14 million vehicles.
