Toyota sell Prius technology to China company

Toyota sold Prius technology to Chinese company FAW Group. The Japanese company made quite weak sales of its hybrid model on the Chinese market, which is the main reason to stop supplying the model in the country. Currently information is unofficial, but most likely the company FAW Group will produce a similar Prius model designed only for the Chinese gustomers, which will be sold at much lower price. Currently FAW Group produces Land Cruiser and Prius under Toyota license. The Chinese company is a partner of Japan’s from 2002. FAW Group is likely to make their own vehicle based on the Prius, to compete on price with larger competitors from Nissan and General Motors.
