According to unconfirmed information Mazda plans to stop production of its models in the joint plant with Ford, company is in the town Flat Rock, Michigan. Japan’s plans are to 2013 all cars for the U.S. market to be assembled in Japan and Mexico. Currently, Ford and Mazda have equal participation in the joint factory, but Mazda now wants to sell its part to Ford. From the Japanese company still have not yet taken a final decision for this step. Now the joint plant assembles models Mazda6 and Ford Mustang. At the same time Ford announced its plans to expand production models in the Flat Rok, but it is not sure which models wants to make there. Currently, employers at the plant are about 1700 people. Last year, Ford reduced its participation in Mazda from 11 to 3.5%.
