Mitsubishi Motors presented the upgraded 1.8 petrol engine, marked “4J10″. Unlike competing brands, which compete to show as more powerful engines, the Japanese have staked the simplification of the new engine, they are removed one camshaft, which have reduced fuel consumption by about 12%. 4J10 have an output 139 hp and maximum torque of 172 Nm. This is a 4 hp and 6 Nm less than the previous engine. 4J10 features the latest development of the system MIVEC.
Engine “4J10″ will be mounted on the hatchback and sedan Mitsubishi Lancer (sold in Japan and as the Galant Fortis and Galant Fortis Sportback), also and in crossover ASX (Japan RVR).
